Description: American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid - Full Day Course April 29 | 9am-4pm | At CCHE Instructor: Rob Wells The purpose of the course is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first-aid emergencies. You will learn how to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Certification will be emailed to attendees. There is a power in the stories we read–to connect us with experiences beyond our own. Besides being a relaxing hobby, reading can create space for self-reflection and can also give us an effective way to have real conversations with our families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. Join the community in reading The Rocks Will Echo Our Sorrow: The Forced Displacement of the Northern Sámi during April & May. We hope that this community read series will equip and inspire our community, both adults and youth, to imagine and create a more inclusive and equitable world. Hiking, kayaking, fishing, skiing...there so many ways to get out and explore one of the loveliest places on earth. Yet as we age, we may find it more difficult to enjoy these activities in quite the same way we did when we were younger. Tregg Axtell, a Physical Therapist from North Shore Health, will be on hand to give us some tips for safely continuing to pursue the outdoor adventures we love...at any age! Free lunch will be available for the first 20 people who register for the in-person class! If you have allergies or food preferences please bring your own meal to enjoy.
