This intermediate Microsoft Excel class builds on basic spreadsheet skills by teaching participants how to work more efficiently with business data and create more powerful worksheets. Students will learn to add comments, apply conditional formatting, create single and nested IF statements, link information across multiple workbooks, customize headers and footers, modify charts, sort and filter lists, calculate subtotals, create PivotTables, and prepare Excel data for form letters and mailing labels through Word mail merge. The class also introduces practical keyboard shortcuts and hands-on examples to help users analyze, organize, summarize, and present information more effectively. Ready for Intermediate Excel? If you can confidently answer yes to most of these questions, you're probably ready for the Intermediate Excel class. If several of these are unfamiliar, this class is likely not a great fit at this point and we would encourage you to start with an Excel Basics class.

Do you understand why the Excel ribbon is organized the way it is (tabs, groups, and larger buttons)?
Can you use the formula bar to view or edit cell contents?
Can you resize a column manually or automatically make it fit the longest entry?
Do you know why text is left-aligned and numbers are right-aligned by default?
Can you use AutoFill to continue a pattern or copy formulas?
Do you know what the answer to 4 + 2 × 3 is in Excel, and why?
Can you center text across multiple cells?
Can you add borders and shading to make a worksheet easier to read?
Can you select multiple non-adjacent columns or ranges?
Can you create a pie chart from scratch?
Can you write a formula that references cells on another worksheet within the same workbook?
