Workshop description:
Spend an afternoon with other woodland stewards learning practical strategies for managing your North Shore woodland. Topics will include:
How to manage areas with dense brush
Moving from aspen dominated stands to a more diverse forest
Responding to spruce budworm impacts
Considerations for climate resilient tree planting
This workshop will focus on actions landowners can start taking on their own to manage and improve the health of their woodlands.
We’ll spend a majority of the afternoon outdoors at Sweetheart’s Bluff, so dress for the weather and be prepared to walk in the woods.

Cook County Soil and Water Conservation District prepared this workshop using Federal funds under award NA23NOS4730025 from the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972, as amended, administered by the Office for Coastal Management, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Department of Commerce provided to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for Minnesota’s Lake Superior Coastal Program.
