North Shore Health is seeking a dynamic and motivated Athletic Trainer to join our team. This unique dual-role position supports both clinical operations at North Shore Health and outreach athletic training services for local schools. The Athletic Trainer assists with patient care, medical procedures while also providing sports coverage, injury prevention and athlete rehabilitation. This position plays a key role in promoting safe, healthy athletic participation and excellent patient outcomes across settings.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Hospital-Based Care
• Support patient care from intake through discharge and serve as liaison between patients, providers, and staff.
• Assist with patient evaluations, education, procedures, and post-operative care.
• Maintain efficient clinic flow, perform brace/crutch fittings, and assist with sterilization.
Athlete Evaluation & Treatment
• Evaluate, document, and treat athletic injuries in coordination with providers.
• Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust plans for optimal recovery.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
School & Community Outreach
• Provide athletic training coverage for school sporting events and practices.
• Maintain injury records, emergency action plans, and athletic training supplies.
• Educate coaches and staff on emergency response, concussion management, and injury prevention.
Surgical Assistance (as applicable)
• Support surgical preparation, sterile field maintenance, and procedural assistance under physician supervision.

Qualifications, License & Certification:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
• BOC certification and current Minnesota Athletic Trainer license required (or eligibility).
• CPR/AED certification.

Public Student Loan Forgiveness Eligible Schedule
• 36-40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• Occasional evenings and weekends
