Description: North Shore Health has a Casual position open for a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist. Duties include collecting and receiving laboratory specimens, clerical and computer tasks, and also general laboratory responsibilities. Prior phlebotomy and customer service experience is preferred, however, we are willing to train a good-fit candidate. This is a professional position therefore applicants must be: responsible and reliable, compliant with confidentiality and safety requirements, able to work both independently and as a team, demonstrate integrity throughout all aspects of their job functions, and also meet the minimum qualifications of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS) EXPERIENCE: Prior experience working directly with people/customer service. (Six (6) months phlebotomy or other medical experience) EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. (Graduated from a NAACLS accredited phlebotomy program) LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: none (Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT) from ASCP or equivalent agency.) Description: North Shore Health is looking for a Patient Account Representative(s). This position can be full-time or part-time. The PAR will be responsible for collection of claims from patients and assisting those who qualify for financial assistance. You will work closely with patients in good faith to set up payment plans, accept payments and assist with questions. A patient’s perception of North Shore Health, in most cases, can be enhanced by the proper handling of the account by the PAR. Confidentiality will be a must. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Three years of customer service experience working closely with consumers. Strong interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail is essential. Proficient keyboarding skills and ability to use Microsoft Office package will be useful. Education: High School graduate.
