North House Folk School is pleased to welcome author, geoscientist, and environmental historian Paul Bierman to teach a writing workshop on Saturday, November 22. In this workshop, Dr. Bierman will share his expertise and experience writing in defense of the Earth with a focus on ice and water. Ahead of the seminar, students will read several short pieces Dr. Bierman has published, and will write a pitch for an opinion piece they’d like to write and publish. Students can expect an interactive morning deconstructing Dr. Bierman’s writing before working together to focus their ideas through small and large group feedback. At the end of the seminar, students will leave ready to write for change and, as John Lewis said, “make good trouble.” Writing for the Earth Saturday, November 22, 9am-12pm $75.
