Description: First Fridays is a series of free community gatherings at North House Folk School. On February 7, come down to campus for a night of square dancing! We'll kick things off at 5:30pm with Dinner on a Stick. North House will have fires going on the commons and will provide s'mores fixings and pointy sticks. Feel free to bring anything else you want to roast over the fire! After that, we'll gather in the Blue Building for a beginner-friendly square dance called by Gabe Strand. All dances are taught, no experience or partner needed. Hope to see you there!

Description: North House is hosting Spring Break Makers Camp, March 24-28! This day camp gives students in grades 3-6 the chance to try their hand at woodcarving. This camp will teach students how to safely use a simple carving knife to create spoons, pencils, and other wooden objects (not just pointy sticks!). Time will be spent learning about trees, finding wood that is good for carving, painting and decorating wooden projects, and developing a lifelong skill. Half and full scholarships are available by request to any Cook County family. Early registration for Cook County families opens at 9am on Tuesday, January 28. Registration will open online to the general public on Friday, January 31. Call North House at 218-387-9762 to register.
