Succession Planning 101
March 10 | 9:30am-12:30pm | At CCHE
Presenter and Partners: Zack Filipovich, Consultant, Northspan Group, Inc. & Cook County Chamber
Succession Planning 101 introduces business owners to the importance of proactively planning for the future transfer of business ownership and leadership. The session explores the risks of inaction—especially given the aging population of business owners—and reframes succession planning as a long‑term business strategy rather than a one‑time event. Participants will learn when and where to begin, the role trusted advisors play, and Northspan’s three‑phase approach—Discover, Prepare, Decide—designed to protect business value, ensure financial security, preserve legacy, and position businesses to successfully grow or transition.
