Soil Health for Gardeners Friday, September 11, 2 pm to 4 pm

Building healthy soil is the foundation to successful gardening. Join us for this introductory class to learn how to assess the health of your garden’s soil. Expand your understanding of what makes up your soil- from living organisms, to nutrients and texture, while learning tips and tricks to build the health of your soil for better success in next year’s harvest. This class will take place at the Cook County Community Center and adjacent Community Garden and will involve hands-on soil assessments in the garden as well as an indoor portion of class focused on reading and understanding soil tests. If you have previously had a soil test done on your garden soil, bring along the results and we can help interpret them.
