As part of the Emergency Management Conference on May 2-3, this training will cover critical safety considerations for transporting oil and hazardous commodities through your community, as well as the response efforts of State Emergency Management teams.
Topics Included:
• The basics of hazmat and scene safety.
• Safety awareness for surface transportation (highway, rail, pipeline)
• AskRail Mobile App
• Placards and identification of hazardous materials.
• Who to call and how to request the State Emergency Response Teams.
The State Fire Marshal Division encourages fire departments, police departments, emergency management agencies, sheriffs’ departments, emergency medical services, and city and county appointed officials - as well as mutual aid partners and agencies with hazardous material facilities or transportation in their communities—to participate in this training.
