In partnership with the Grand Marais Art Colony, Grand Portage National Monument has welcomed their first Artist-in-Residence, Sofia Vanderlan!
The community is invited to attend a demonstration of Sofia's beadwork artistry on September 5, at 10:30 AM at the Grand Marias Art Colony/Studio 1. Sofia will share an overview of her creative process, sources of inspiration, and the project she is creating during her residency.
In addition to the demonstration, Sofia will also be available for visitor engagement at the Grand Portage National Monument Heritage Center (170 Mile Creek Rd) September 1-4, and September 8-11, from 11AM-1PM. Please join us for an Artist Talk with Sofia at the Heritage Center on Saturday, September 12 at 1 PM.
The Monument is fee-free, and all are welcome!
