North Shore Laundry Services is seeking full-time and part time laundry attendants to join our team! We are a commercial laundry service, located in Grand Marais, MN that cleans linen and towels for local businesses here in the northland. We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for receiving, laundering, and folding linen and towels for deliveries. The laundry attendant should possess knowledge of all equipment and chemicals used. Works closely with Laundry Manager and Driver to ensure proper inventory levels are supplied for deliveries in a timely and efficient manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects or receives, separates, counts, and records number of items/carts/weight of soiled linen or laundry, and places items in appropriate receiving location.
Sorts dirty linen by product type.
Checks for stains and applies pre-stain treatment if necessary
Sets the wash and dry cycles on the machines based on products being laundered.
Monitors levels of washing and drying chemicals and replaces when necessary.
Washes, dries, and folds linen and terry cloth items in a neat pristine fashion.
Examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability, ensures the washing of linen is up to standard before sending out on delivery.
Identifies worn and torn linen and keeps track on a discard form.
Works in a fast-paced environment with time constraints and timing deadlines related to production standards and requirements.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Laundry or housekeeping experience preferred but not required
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
