SUMMARY
This role centers around housekeeping but other duties such as front desk, laundry, and property care will be included in a typical work week. Thomsonite is a small, 11 unit inn on the shore of Lake Superior, located just 6 miles west of downtown Grand Marais, MN and 11 miles east of Lutsen, MN. We are in the heart of all the North Shore has to offer: hiking, waterfalls, bike trails, beaches, and camping to name a few. As part of Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts, our employees get to take part in free staff activities such as sea kayaking, fishing, guided hikes and more. We are a small team consisting of 2 managers and 1-2 employees in the busy season, working closely together every day. We all play a part in daily operations, to provide our guests a memorable North Shore experience, jumping in wherever needed. On less busy days, throughout the season, we’re happy to offer flexible scheduling and hours so you can truly enjoy this beautiful area. You only need to take a few steps out your door to see the ever-changing Lake Superior, view the northern lights, or even spot wandering wildlife. HOURS REQUIREMENTS/EXPECTATIONS
This is a full-time, seasonal position, lasting from mid-May through the end of October. Position aims for full time hours with a minimum of 32 hours per week.

SAMPLING OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cleans and prepares guest units for all arrivals each day.
• Assist with running laundry and folding.
• Point of contact for guest questions or concerns
• Assist with grounds care & light property maintenance
• Assist guests with Inn reservations and preparing supplies for arrivals.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Thomsonite Inn Manager

QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates enjoy cleaning, have a strong attention to detail, and a can-do attitude.
No experience is required if applicant demonstrates a willingness to learn and work well with others. Housekeeping and customer service experience preferred. Must have a strong attention to detail.
Due to location, having a driver’s license and a personal vehicle is required. Candidates will not be required to use their personal vehicles for work purposes. This is just nice to have for quality of life on the North Shore and getting around easily without public transportation available.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Less than high school education; up to six months related experience or training. Individual must have ability to work flexible working hours including weekend, weekdays and holidays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Rubber gloves and face mask are provided as required or needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or ear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This job occasionally requires long working hours.

HOUSING
Housing is available on site through the end of your working season. Housing costs $250 per person. All utilities are included.
