The Harbor Inn is a boutique motel located in the heart of Grand Marais, MN. We pride ourselves on providing a curated, cozy retreat for adventurers and North Shore enthusiasts. Unlike a massive hotel chain, we focus on a personalized "boutique" experience. Every room has character, and your work is the foundation of our guests’ North Shore memories. We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Housekeeper to join our small, dedicated team. 


The Role
Are you someone who finds peace in the details and loves the crisp air of Lake Superior? We are hiring a Housekeeping & Guest Experience Specialist to ensure every guest room and common area meets our high standards for cleanliness and presentation. We aim to make every guest's stay memorable and provide the ultimate experience to them. 


The Schedule & Seasonality
This is a seasonal position with the potential for flexible winter work:

• Primary Season: Early May through October 31st (The peak North Shore experience!).


• Winter Option: Potential for additional shifts during December and January to accommodate our winter travelers and holiday guests.


• Hours: Flexible, 9a-3p, 12p-6p, 3p-9p staggered shifts. Looking for up to 30 hours/week, optional to become full time! 

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of guest rooms, including stripping and making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.


• Ensure rooms reflect "The Boutique Touch": check that decor is perfectly placed, coffee stations are stocked, and the space is "staged" for guest arrival.


• Maintain the cleanliness of common areas, including the lobby, outdoor seating areas, and guest amenities.


• Conduct quality control checks and promptly report maintenance needs (e.g., burnt-out bulbs, leaky faucets).


• Front Desk staffing and assisting the hotel manager in day to day operations as needed.

• An Eye for Detail: You notice the stray hair or the crooked frame that others might miss.


• Reliability & Team Work Ethic: We all show up for each other and create an atmosphere of teamwork.


• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 30lbs, bend, kneel, and be on your feet for the duration of a shift.


• North Shore Spirit: A friendly, helpful attitude toward guests who might ask for the best spot for a hike or a local brew.


• Valid Driver's License & the ability to drive around the town if needed.
