The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic is looking for a friendly, hardworking, and detail-oriented person to fill the role of Floor Nurse - This person may be an LPN, a Medical Assistant (MA), or someone looking to gain their MA Certificate - no prior experience necessary! MA Apprentices learn on-the-job and receive free medical assistant education while working full-time, getting paid, and receiving a full benefit package!

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Salary: MA Apprentice starts at $18.50/hour with increases for apprentice milestones, other certifications will be paid commensurately with educational background and experience.

Job Summary:
The Floor Nurse or Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient flow of direct patient care during the clinic day. The Floor Nurse or Medical Assistant works with a team of 2-4 floor nurses to assist clinic doctors, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses in providing sensitive care to patients of all ages, economic levels, cultures, and backgrounds.

Job Duties:
• Ready patient for provider’s examination: taking vital signs, brief history, allergies and medications, as well as other screenings according to protocol
• Assist providers in various sterile and non-sterile procedures
• Administer immunizations and immunization education
• Medication administration
• Screenings and tests including but not limited to: audiometry, EKG, spirometry, and INR testing
• Appropriate documentation of all encounters in EMR
• Administrative duties such as reminder letters and phone call routing
• Stocking, organizing and cleaning as needed
• All other duties as assigned or requested by Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing

Job Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• LPN or CMA preferred, but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills
• One or more years of experience in the healthcare field preferred

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk for extensive periods of time.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to stoop, squat, or bend frequently.
• Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to provide nursing care and operating equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients and professional staff, in person and over the telephone, and to read printed materials and a computer screen
• Exposure to patient elements including communicable disease and bloodborne pathogens.
