North Shore Health in Grand Marais, MN is looking for a Hospital Director of Nursing.  The Director of Nursing is responsible for the provision of leadership to plan, develop, direct, coordinate, evaluate and revise the efficient and effective care delivery of nursing care throughout North Shore Health, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency department and swing bed.  Administratively responsible for the departmental operations of social services and other departments as may be assigned. Provides leadership for the implementation and evaluation of departmental goals, standards of performance, patient safety and quality initiatives and oversees corrective action plans. Ensures the department and services meet regulatory, legal and medical staff requirements and guidelines. Ensures patient care/service and departmental operations are provided and improved through interdisciplinary teamwork, using clinical practice guidelines, evidence based outcomes or best practice recommendations. Maintains professional relationships with physicians, employees and appropriate constituencies. Participates in facility strategic planning. The Director of Nursing is expected to assume a leadership role in developing a culture that enables employees to support the Mission, Vision and Values of North Shore Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:  Three (3) years supervisory/management experience (may include charge, Assistant Head Nurse, Head Nurse, Administrative Supervisor, Nurse Manager, etc.) in an acute care facility.
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:  Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse.  ACLS Certification upon hire.  PALS, TNCC and CALS Certifications within six (6) months of hire.  BLS Certification with a designation of either "BLS Provider" from the American Heart Association.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:  Five (5) years Hospital nursing leadership or appropriate related administrative experience.
Education:  Master's degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field.
