North Shore Health is seeking applicants for a Director of Facilities.  The Director of Facilities is responsible for directing, planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of tasks, including skilled maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction of buildings. The Director of Facilities also oversees the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and grounds. This position entails supervising inspections of worksites and various buildings on a routine basis. The incumbent is afforded significant latitude in exercising his or her independent judgment in planning and carrying out the Director responsibilities of the position. The Director of Facilities is responsible for supervising the maintenance employees who perform routine building maintenance and repair of both semi-skilled and skilled nature. The Director is also responsible to manage and oversee the Housekeeping/Laundry department with the assistance of the Housekeeping Lead.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

Experience: Five years of progressively responsible full-time experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a health care setting. (Seven years of progressively responsible full-time experience in building, mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, and management experience in healthcare facilities.)
Education: Two-Year Technical or Trade School OR sufficient experience of a related nature in lieu of degree. (Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.)
Licensure/Certification/Registration:  Valid Minnesota driver’s license.  Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, 1-C Boiler License.
