Coldwater Foundation is hosting a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification course at Mink Lake Camp. Dates: June 5-12 Cost: $990
All meals and housing are included at Mink Lake Camp. Housing includes a bunk in a cabin, access to sauna, outhouses, and hand-washing facility. Discount available if commuting from Grand Marais or surrounding area.
This Wilderness First Responder course provides comprehensive instruction in backcountry medicine and is the industry standard for professional outdoor guides, ski patrol, and trip leaders, or individuals who want a high level of wilderness medical training for extended personal backcountry trips or expeditions. Offered on-site at Mink Lake Wilderness Camp, our WFR course is taught by Tom Burroughs, Instructor Trainer and Director at Ozark Safety and Rescue Educators.
Students will gain extensive, hands-on instruction in Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies and Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies. Course includes both a comprehensive written exam and comprehensive practical skill assessment. WFR certifications are valid for three years.
