After School Clay Club (for ages 10 – 14)

With Natalie Sobanja, Kari Carter, Julia Nellessen, and Brett Monahan

Explore the fun of working in clay through handbuilding and wheelthrown projects. Students will learn to use a pottery wheel to make basic cylinder and bowl forms. Handbuilding projects will help students master techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab building. Underglazes will be applied to work to create surface decorations, and each student will have a small collection of work fired and finished to take home at the end of the series. This series is team-taught, and all supplies and firing fees are included.
