A new month means a new local artist featured at JHP! October's Local Artist of the Month is Kerry Lane. As a photographer, Lane has a special fondness for the Gunflint Trail, the North Shore of Lake Superior, and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). “I am interested not only in the beauty of the landscape, but also in documenting what it feels like to spend time within it,” Lane says, crediting his time as a wilderness outfitter and his experience exploring the woods as shaping how he understands the land. Tickets are available through October 4, with the winner announced on October 7. Tickets may be purchased in person at JHP (open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 4), or by calling 218-387-2314.
