Reports to and works closely with the Vice President of Finance to maintain current and accurate accounting, inventory and production records. Full-time, year-round position. Shift: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, some flexibility. Pay is commensurate with experience – wide range available depending on skills. Job Duties • Full suite of accounting responsibilities • Data entry and spreadsheet management for company operations such as inventory, purchasing, sales, import/export • Reception duties which are shared by all office staff (answering phones, scaling incoming log trucks, interacting with the public, etc) Skills Preferred • Formal training in accounting principles, such as a 2-year or 4-year accounting degree • Advanced accounting and bookkeeping experience o Bank reconciliations, cash management, payment processing, general ledger reconciliations, error corrections, preparing financial statements, working with auditors, sales & payroll tax filing, unemployment, and more o Familiarity with accounting software including making direct transaction entries and manual adjusting entries • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel – create complex spreadsheets, PivotTables, databases, analysis Skills Required • Basic accounting and bookkeeping experience such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or payroll • Basic, current proficiency in Microsoft Excel o Able to accurately read and enter data into complex Excel spreadsheets and use formulas to generate reports o Able to review the results of reports to see if they make sense and to catch mistakes • Customer service & office management o Cheerful and welcoming manner, highly organized, good communication skills, excellent spelling and grammar, good time management, fast typing speed • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office products • Competent user of internet and online tools, including a heavy dose of common sense • Ready to learn a huge volume of new information – this is a really complex business! • Must have a good sense of humor and must love dogs For questions or to discuss the position, please call Tina Hegg Raway, Vice President of Finance at 218-877-7030.
