Description: Oshki Ogimaag Community School is seeking a passionate, dependable, and student-centered individual to serve as a Special Education Paraprofessional. In this role, you will support students with disabilities through academic learning, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and restorative practices in a culturally grounded, small-school setting. You will work closely with the Special Education Coordinator to implement individualized plans and help create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that honors the whole child. Candidates with knowledge of Ojibwe language, traditions, and seasonal lifeways are strongly encouraged to apply. However, this is not a requirement, training and cultural support will be provided. Description: Oshki Ogimaag Community School (OOCS) seeks a passionate, innovative, and dedicated educator with a deep love for the outdoors and a genuine interest in doing work that honors, revitalizes and preserves the Anishinaabe language and culture. At OOCS, educators collaborate in a culturally-rooted, interdisciplinary model, with small class sizes, that honors the whole child-mind, body, heart and spirit. Teaching is deeply connected to land, language, environmental stewardship, and outdoor learning in the forests and on the magnificent shores of Gichigami (Lake Superior). In this role, you will: Support the mission of OOCS by creating a learning environment rooted in Anishinaabe language, values, and seasonal cycles Design hands-on, community-based learning that prepares students to become lifelong learners Contribute to the academic success and holistic wellness of future generations We are especially interested in candidates with knowledge of Ojibwe language, traditional lifeways, and seasonal cultural activities—however, this is not a requirement, training will be provided.
