Just in time for cozy meals and holiday cooking, the 2025 Centennial Celebration Cookbooks are *officially* available!

The cookbook has been in the making for almost a full year. During that time, we researched old photos, stories, and recipes from our archives, and collected and organized community submissions, all while drooling over many of the recipes included. There are even recipes from favorite local restaurants, some that are no longer with us, and some that are going strong today.

The end product has 233 recipes on over 200 pages, and over 50 historical photos.

A huge thank you to our restaurant sponsors for not only providing a recipe, but also for supporting this project and helping to make it all possible (Angry Trout, Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts, Cook County Co-op, The Fisherman’s Daughter at Dockside Fish Market, Hungry Hippie Tacos, and Java Moose). Additionally, we'd like to thank all those who submitted recipes for the cookbook. We truly wanted this to be a community-focused project, and we couldn't have reached that goal without your help.

Cookbooks are available at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery (current hours Thursday - Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.), the Cook County History Museum (current hours Wednesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), or online anytime at: https://www.cookcountyhistory.org/shop/2025-centennial-celebration-cookbook.
