Little Free Library

Greetings from the Little Free Library on 103 3rd Av. West. The house on 3rd Av. West has been sold.  The owner has decided that health care is scarce and far away and a move is a necessity.  This leaves the Little Free Library without a steward.  So a call is being sent out to the residents of Cook County for someone(s) to take over the management of the wonderful source of joy and cheer.  The job would require a weekly check to sort through the books, organizing by type and size.  The top box is for fiction and nonfiction adult readers. The box on the left is for early readers and chapter books.  If you need clarification ask any elementary student and they can help you to sort and divide the books.  The box on the bottom is for picture books (again ask any 7 to 10 year old).  The box on the right is for Teen readers.  Checking the boxes weekly will help you to manage and organize the boxes.  You could place a free ad in Boreal asking for donations of any type of books.  Let the donators know where they can drop off the books (ie: any open spot in any of the boxes).  It will be your decision to remove any books that are not in a reasonable condition for your readers or which are not appropriate for any one in town. If you would like more information about the LFL and how to manage it please call Lynn at 218-370-8337.  If no one takes over the management of the Little Free Library it will die, which I think would be a horrible loss for the readers of Cook County.  It's been an icon of the county for 12 years and I hope someone or a group of managers will take over the life of the Little Free Library. I am calling out for possible stewards.
