Films on Fridays We’re digging into the past to show films from the 1920s through the 1960s, some classics some less well-known. Genres include romantic, comedy, drama, mystery and noir. Everyone is welcome to come! May 9 Safety Last (1923, b+w, silent) Harold Lloyd and Mildred Davis in a corny, romantic comedy. Includes the well-known clock scene. May 23 The Trial (1962, b+w) Anthony Perkins; Orson Welles directed. Based on the Franz Kafka novel, so expect the bizarre. * No films in June * July 11 12 Angry Men (1957, b+w) Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb, Ed Begley, E.G. Marshall, Jack Warden, Jack Klugman. 12 men on a jury in a hot, small room deliberating the fate of an accused. Intense. July 18 The Iron Mask (1929, b+w) Douglas Fairbanks, Marguerite De La Motte. Based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas. Produced at the end of the silent film era, this film is silent with extensive narration.
