Job Summary:
The Title Processor – Escrow Assistant is responsible for preparing and reviewing title documentation related to real estate transactions. This role ensures all necessary documents are accurate and complete for the issuance of title insurance policies and closing procedures. The Title Processor communicates with lenders, real estate agents, buyers, and sellers to facilitate smooth and timely closings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review title orders and examine public records for property ownership, liens, judgments, and encumbrances.
• Open and process new title orders and maintain detailed files.
• Request and review payoffs, surveys, tax certificates, and other related documentation.
• Clear title issues and resolve discrepancies or exceptions to title.
• Prepare closing documents including HUDs/CDs, commitments, and policies.
• Coordinate with underwriters, clients, and attorneys to ensure all title requirements are met.
• Deliver excellent customer service by keeping all parties informed and updated.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred).
• 1–3 years of title processing or real estate closing experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple files and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with title software (e.g., SoftPro, RamQuest, ResWare) and Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:
• Office-based with potential for hybrid or remote work.
• Occasional travel may be required based on business need.
