The Harbor Inn is a 2 floor motel located in the heart of Grand Marais, MN. We pride ourselves on providing a curated, cozy retreat for adventurers and North Shore enthusiasts. Every room has character, and your work is the foundation of our guests’ North Shore memories. We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Housekeeper to expand our small, dedicated team.

The Role
Are you someone who finds peace in the details and loves the crisp air of Lake Superior? We are hiring an experienced Housekeeper to ensure every guest room and common area meets our high standards for cleanliness and presentation. 

The Schedule & Seasonality

• This is a seasonal position with the potential for flexible winter work


• Primary Season: Now through October 31st (The peak North Shore experience!).


• Winter Option: Potential for additional shifts during December and January to accommodate our winter travelers and holiday guests.


• Hours: Up to 30 hours/week, 5 days per week 2 days off - daytime hours 

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of guest rooms, including stripping and making beds, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms.


• Laundry operations as needed: Categorize laundry by color, fabric, and washing temperature to prevent damage. Pre-treat stains and fold, iron and hang sheets and towels as appropriate, linen inventory


• Ensure rooms reflect "The Boutique Touch": check that decor is perfectly placed, coffee stations are stocked, and the space is "staged" for guest arrival.


• Maintain the cleanliness of common areas, including the lobby, outdoor seating areas, and guest amenities


• Conduct quality control checks and promptly report maintenance needs (e.g., burnt-out bulbs, leaky faucets).

• An Eye for Detail: You notice the stray hair or the crooked frame that others might miss.


• Reliability: Showing up for your team is essential in a small business environment.


• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and be on your feet for the duration of a shift.


• North Shore Spirit: A friendly, helpful attitude toward guests who might ask for the best spot for a hike or a local brew.

• Compensation: $18-20 hourly, depending on experience + PTO
