Dream Job Alert: Become Our Cook County Event Magician! (Event Coordinator)
Visit Cook County and the Cook County Chamber of Commerce are looking for a highly-organized, people-loving, and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to help us showcase the magic of Cook County, MN!
If you thrive on bringing exciting community events to life, coordinating like a pro, and working in a flexible, hybrid environment, this is your chance to shine!
What you’ll be doing (the fun part):
Producing Star Events: Take the lead on organizing specific, high-impact organizational events—from start to sensational finish (think scheduling, planning, marketing, and making sure everything's safe and permitted).
The Fall Gala Mastermind: Plan and execute the highly anticipated Annual Fall Gala for both Visit Cook County and the Chamber.
Community Connector: Act as a go-to resource and liaison for local event producers, community members, and tourism associations, helping everyone stay informed and connected.
Budgeting Brains: Work closely with our finance director to manage event allocation payment schedules and provide informed direction during budget meetings for our 1% grant program.
Digital Dynamo: Oversee and share in the management of our online events calendar, consumer E-Newsletter, and event website content.
Data Detective: Track event success using specialized tools and reports, and share your findings with organizational leadership and the VCC Board.
What you'll bring to the table:
A passion for events and/or tourism.
Top-notch project and time management skills.
The ability to juggle multiple assignments and adapt to a quick-paced, changing environment with a professional and diplomatic approach.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platforms (Drive, Gmail, Meet) and a basic understanding of tools like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva.
Reliable transportation and connectivity (we love our hybrid work model!).
The Perk:
Enjoy a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment (up to two days working from home with approval). While some occasional travel, weekends, and holidays may be required to support our fantastic events, you get to be a driving force in promoting one of Minnesota’s most beautiful tourism destinations! Other benefits include:
Health and Dental Insurance available
Paid Vacation (PTO Schedule)
Simple IRA
Salary Range $60K to $63K
