Gunflint and Tofte Ranger District 2019 Summer Employment

Gunflint (Grand Marais) and Tofte Ranger Districts of the Superior National Forest are seeking qualified applicants to fill multiple temporary, full-time positions for the 2019 summer season. Seasonal housing may be available.

Forestry Technician (Silviculture) performs a variety of routine and frequently complex tasks involving techniques and practices relating to timber and silviculture. Work could include: measuring tree diameters and heights and observing defects via regeneration stocking surveys, plantation survival surveys, or common stand exams; inspecting contracts for reforestation, timber stand improvement, or genetic tree improvement; seed cone collection. Experience with trailer towing and ATV use desired, but not required. Applicant should be comfortable working alone in a remote forest setting and also as part of crew.
