With Carl Oltvedt

Watercolor and pastel have long individual histories in visual art as media favored by artists to work through ideas with color in a more immediate/direct manner than oil, fresco, encaustic, egg tempera, and, more recently, acrylic media usually allow. Carl will review some of the individual characteristics of the two and then we will focus on the wonderful textural and expressive potential that they have when used together. Subjects will include still life and landscape. Prerequisite: basic drawing training and some experience / understanding in the use of color in art.
