The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery has two new exhibits opening this November, highlighting work from local artists.

Local Artist of the Month: Randy Spry
The gallery is pleased to feature Randy Spry as the Local Artist of the Month for November. Raised in Grand Portage, Spry grew up surrounded by family influences in music and carpentry.

Spry is a versatile artist who started with woodworking (creating whittled wizards and walking sticks) before teaching himself painting—inspired by watching Bob Ross—to depict local nature scenes and buildings. Today, he has merged his passions by building custom guitars and playing in his step-daughter's band, sharing that he hopes his art and music inspire others.

New gallery exhibit: Spirit of the Wilderness "Transitions: Navigating Change"
Opening this Friday, November 7, is the 14th Annual Spirit of the Wilderness Episcopal Church Community Art Show, themed "Transitions: Navigating Change."

This exhibition highlights how art can provide insight and stability during times of upheaval. North Shore makers were invited to explore questions around change and constancy during times of instability.

Opening Reception: Friday, November 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with an artist roundtable discussion taking place at 6 p.m.

Exhibit Dates: The show runs through November 30, 2025. Visit the Johnson Heritage Post website for the most up-to-date hours.
