Beginning Oil

Gain a basic foundation of oil painting as Paula covers all of the fundamental tools of the trade, from color to design. Along with a variety of hands-on exercises, students will cultivate the seeds of creative thinking, interpretation, and observation. This class is intended to be a fun jumping-off point, and students will complete at least one painting. Weather permitting, we may go outside to explore and use as our subject the beautiful town of Grand Marais. Discussions will include color basics, brush and surface choices, foundational design, and a look at some historical masters.
